"The roots of our current van"

Our first vans build started in 2003 utilizing a sponsorship through Lightning Audio. The van was designed to compete in DB Drag but was also modified for USACi competitions if needed. For the 2004 season the van used all Lightning Audio product including woofers, wiring and amplifiers. The back end of the van held 59 Turbo Start 16v batteries linked by 3/0 that surrounded a swing design amp rack that held 16 Lightning Audio Storm 2000.1bd amplifiers that produced 2500-3000 watts each. All of that power went to 4 15" Lightning Audio Storm X2 modular woofers for DB Drag and 6 12's for USACi world finals. The baffle was concrete with a MDF Shell. The enclosure started off as MDF reinforced with a steel cage but in 2005 concrete was added around the enclosure and between the van itself for extra strength. Also in 2005 the Lightning Audio X2 woofers were replaced with RE Audio MX 18's. The changes hepled us to gain 4 db within a year. With a season high of 159.6 in 2004 and a career high of 163.4 in 2005 the van gave us knowlege and experience that could be applied to our next and even louder van. The van is currently stripped of the enclosure and equiptment and is for sale as a running shell.
